[00:00:00] Speaker A: Let's get it started in here.
[00:00:07] Speaker B: Gossip, music, news, entertainment, and heated discussions. The DJ Blaze Radio show starts now.
[00:00:37] Speaker C: Welcome back to another episode of the DJ Blaze Radio show podcast. It's your boy.
[00:00:43] Speaker B: Be easy.
[00:00:43] Speaker A: It's your girl, Corey.
[00:00:44] Speaker B: It's your boy.
[00:00:45] Speaker C: L. What up?
And it's Wednesday.
It's our list episode.
[00:00:51] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:00:52] Speaker C: And. Yeah. What are we talking about today, man?
[00:00:55] Speaker B: Today's episode. Today's episode is about top five shows. We would like another season.
[00:01:01] Speaker C: Yeah, another season. You know what I'm saying? Might have thought they ended too early or they didn't finish telling the story. All this, that and the third.
We'll have any emails from last episode, top five. So guess we can jump right into it. Who going first?
[00:01:20] Speaker B: I'll go first.
[00:01:20] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:01:21] Speaker B: Now I'm gonna say this with my top five.
Some of them might not have a real reason. It's just maybe I wanted the show to stay on or continue.
[00:01:32] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:01:33] Speaker B: Cause there's some shows that ended like, say, the Martin show. I would love another Martin show. But towards the end it was trash.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: Yeah, Martin was one.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: You know what I'm saying? But I still would like the Martin show.
[00:01:47] Speaker C: You still would like another.
[00:01:48] Speaker A: I was thinking about that too. I didn't put it. But I know what you mean.
[00:01:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:01:52] Speaker B: Like some shows is like, towards the end it was shaky anyway, so you knew it was about to go off on it.
[00:01:57] Speaker C: Should've. Yeah.
[00:01:58] Speaker B: You know, so.
[00:01:59] Speaker A: But if everything was cool.
[00:02:00] Speaker B: Yeah. Like the old.
[00:02:01] Speaker C: Yeah, if was a fifth. God damn it. So what's your number five?
[00:02:06] Speaker B: My number five is Atlanta. Ah, Atlanta.
[00:02:10] Speaker C: Damn, that's a good one.
[00:02:11] Speaker B: And that show, like, you know, it changed a lot at the end.
[00:02:16] Speaker C: It was good at the end, though.
[00:02:18] Speaker B: It started doing the messages. And what was that about? Who you think that episode was about? You know, it was one of those. And I just think. I think Atlanta could keep on going. Really?
[00:02:29] Speaker C: Kinda. I mean, the last. I don't know, the last season. Cause I did a rewatch not too long ago.
[00:02:36] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:02:37] Speaker C: And the last season of Atlanta, especially like the last few episodes, especially the episode with Darius being in the sensory deprivation tank or whatever. Yeah, it was kind of weird and how it ended. You don't know if they were saying the whole show was him in that or if it was just that, you know what I'm saying? Cause they did some type of Inception type shit. But yeah, Atlanta. I love Atlanta, though.
[00:03:03] Speaker B: Me too.
[00:03:04] Speaker C: I ain't gonna lie. I love Atlanta.
[00:03:04] Speaker B: That first season, that first episode where they outside the club doing that with you know what?
[00:03:10] Speaker C: That whole show probably was him in the sleep deprivation tank. And I'm gonna tell you why.
The invisible car.
[00:03:19] Speaker B: That.
[00:03:20] Speaker C: But that was, that was in the first episode, I think. Nah, maybe the second or third episode.
[00:03:24] Speaker B: Nah, that's it.
[00:03:25] Speaker C: But it was in the first season.
[00:03:26] Speaker B: It was the first season.
[00:03:27] Speaker C: It was in the first season. Cause remember, the shooting happened the first episode. The first episode.
[00:03:33] Speaker B: But there was a car there.
[00:03:35] Speaker C: Cause somebody, they was at the club and somebody got run over by the invisible car. Cause the person, he was like, yeah, you heard this nigga so and so got an invisible car. It's like, man, I ain't seen that yet. Or whatever. And then at the club that night, somebody shot outside the club.
[00:03:48] Speaker B: Nah, that wasn't the first episode. Episode.
[00:03:49] Speaker C: I'm saying it was. It was in the first season though.
[00:03:52] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:03:52] Speaker C: Yeah, it was in the first season. I. I might have been wrong about the episode, but. Yeah, that's. That was a good pick. I forgot about Atlanta.
[00:03:58] Speaker B: Atlanta.
[00:03:59] Speaker C: You wanna go second? Sure.
[00:04:00] Speaker A: I don't, I don't, I don't care.
[00:04:02] Speaker C: Okay. What's your show?
[00:04:04] Speaker A: Black As.
I never heard of that show.
[00:04:07] Speaker C: Oh yeah, that's the show on, on Netflix. Yeah. That's really the story of Blackish.
[00:04:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:04:15] Speaker B: Oh, with the light skinned guy.
[00:04:17] Speaker C: Kenya Barris.
[00:04:18] Speaker A: Yes. And Rashida Jones.
[00:04:20] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, that could come back.
[00:04:21] Speaker C: Black elf.
[00:04:22] Speaker A: I wish they had another.
[00:04:24] Speaker C: You know why I didn't come back though, right? No, because people was talking shit about it.
[00:04:27] Speaker A: Why?
[00:04:28] Speaker B: Oh, they said it was too edgy, like.
[00:04:30] Speaker C: No, it was. They, they people had shit to talk about Kenya Barris anyway, because they felt like he was like his shit was kind of anti black for some reason then like the Rashida Jones, Rasheeda Jones being so light. They was saying he got a thing for light skinned people. It was a whole bunch of talk on like Twitter and shit like that.
[00:04:53] Speaker A: Rasheed, the whole point of her character was for people judging her to being so white. But she's biracial and she had to fight that in the show itself.
[00:05:04] Speaker C: Yeah, but not her, but him personally having a thing about light skinned people and dark skinned people. It was a whole thing.
[00:05:13] Speaker A: That was a funny show.
[00:05:14] Speaker C: Yeah, I liked it.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: I loved that show.
[00:05:15] Speaker C: It was just a more edgy black ish to me. Yeah. Cause black ish really was based on his family life. Cause they was wearing the same clothes in like them track suits and shit.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:05:28] Speaker C: But that was a good pick. Yeah, that's real good. I forgot about that too. Oh, I gotta Edit mine. Then I got a show that was on Netflix. It might go on my honorable mention since I didn't think about it.
Damn. What was the name of that show?
It'll come to me.
[00:05:45] Speaker B: Well, give us your number five, then.
[00:05:47] Speaker C: So the number five that I do have down is Get Millie Black.
[00:05:51] Speaker B: Okay. I never watched it.
[00:05:53] Speaker C: You told me to watch it. Yeah, it comes on well, matter of fact, I didn't know it was a BBC show before, but.
[00:06:01] Speaker A: So annoying.
[00:06:03] Speaker C: I'm glad that's on camera to look at this game. I know, but. Yeah, you know, you look like your.
[00:06:08] Speaker A: Daughter doing that too. Every time somebody says something crazy, she go, hmm.
[00:06:13] Speaker B: That was kinda crazy though.
[00:06:14] Speaker C: Yeah, but we didn't see it until later on hbo.
And so far I haven't heard about it getting a second season. But it's about like a detective in Jamaica and some wild stuff happens. Then the end of the season she has to go to go to the uk.
But yeah, some loud talking out there. That shit distracted the fuck out of me. We need to move.
[00:06:46] Speaker A: You got one tab open when somebody. When a pop up happens?
[00:06:50] Speaker C: No, when I hear loud talking. Cause I don't know what's going on with the loud talking. I gotta make sure there ain't no foolishness going on.
But yeah, Get Millie Black. Get Millie Black is my number five.
[00:07:03] Speaker B: I still gotta go back and watch that though.
[00:07:04] Speaker C: Yeah, it's good. It's a good show. I'm glad I started it.
[00:07:06] Speaker B: They only came out one season, right?
[00:07:08] Speaker C: So far. Yeah.
[00:07:08] Speaker B: And it just was over. Just recently, Right?
[00:07:11] Speaker C: Maybe a couple months ago. Yep. Yeah.
[00:07:13] Speaker B: Okay. That's a.
[00:07:14] Speaker C: That's a. Yeah.
[00:07:15] Speaker B: So they already consider that canceled?
[00:07:17] Speaker C: No, I'm saying so far. Cause it really came out a couple years ago.
So it's. I think it came out in 2023. We just got it on.
[00:07:25] Speaker A: Oh, it was on BBC and then moved to Max.
[00:07:27] Speaker C: Then they put it on Max, but we got it on Max late.
[00:07:31] Speaker A: Right.
[00:07:31] Speaker C: And so we haven't heard anything yet.
[00:07:33] Speaker B: So just like your honor.
[00:07:35] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:07:36] Speaker B: Just like how that was.
[00:07:37] Speaker C: Okay, I forgot about that. So what's your number? That's your number four.
[00:07:40] Speaker B: Nah, that's my honorable mention.
[00:07:41] Speaker C: Okay. What's your number four?
[00:07:42] Speaker B: My number four is the Outsiders.
[00:07:44] Speaker C: The Outsiders?
[00:07:45] Speaker B: Yeah. A lot of people don't know this one. This one.
[00:07:47] Speaker A: I've heard of it.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: I think it came on. It came on hbo. Hbo?
[00:07:52] Speaker C: It's a show?
[00:07:53] Speaker B: Yeah, it was a series.
Basically. It was a Stephen King thing.
[00:07:58] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, I know. I ain't watching that it was good, though, man.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: It was. It was, you know, kids coming up missing and stuff like that.
[00:08:05] Speaker C: Did it come on wgn?
[00:08:07] Speaker B: No, it came on hbo.
[00:08:08] Speaker C: Oh. Because I see the Outsiders.
[00:08:10] Speaker B: HBO is.
[00:08:11] Speaker C: No, it says American Outsiders. My bad.
[00:08:13] Speaker B: Yeah, there's a whole lot of Outsiders. So to find it, you got to put the Outsiders. Hbo, something like that.
[00:08:19] Speaker C: Is Sally. No, this is the same thing.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: Cynthia.
[00:08:22] Speaker C: Nah, I'm talking about one of the characters. Hold on. Cynthia. Who are.
[00:08:26] Speaker B: Yeah, Cynthia Erivo.
[00:08:27] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:08:28] Speaker B: And she's the detective, you know, trying to solve the case. Why the kids are coming up missing, stuff like that.
[00:08:35] Speaker C: Oh, I think I remember seeing that.
[00:08:37] Speaker B: Did you watch it?
[00:08:38] Speaker C: I don't think so, man.
[00:08:40] Speaker B: Go back and watch it now, man, because I wish I could go back and watch it, like, for the first time again.
Who else? Jason. Jason. Bait. Them was in it.
[00:08:49] Speaker C: Who?
[00:08:51] Speaker A: Say that again.
[00:08:52] Speaker C: Say it again.
[00:08:52] Speaker A: Say it again.
[00:08:53] Speaker C: Just look, this is a scene from.
[00:08:54] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, just watch it.
[00:08:55] Speaker A: Say it again.
[00:08:55] Speaker C: No talk.
[00:08:56] Speaker A: You know, say the name again.
[00:08:57] Speaker B: Jason was on it.
[00:08:58] Speaker A: Last name Bait.
[00:08:59] Speaker C: And Bateman.
[00:09:00] Speaker A: Bateman.
[00:09:00] Speaker B: Bateman. Okay.
[00:09:02] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This. Who?
[00:09:04] Speaker B: You.
[00:09:04] Speaker C: Who? DJ Hosta. I was talking about in that email. I know.
[00:09:07] Speaker B: That's what I said.
[00:09:07] Speaker A: Ibuprofen.
[00:09:08] Speaker B: That's what I said it.
[00:09:09] Speaker A: That's why I said it.
[00:09:11] Speaker C: I didn't say it.
[00:09:12] Speaker B: I never said that.
[00:09:13] Speaker A: No, no, he never said that.
[00:09:14] Speaker B: All right, now, don't be.
[00:09:15] Speaker C: No, no, no, no.
[00:09:15] Speaker A: I'm just saying people have said that.
[00:09:17] Speaker C: This is it right here.
[00:09:18] Speaker B: Yeah, that's it.
[00:09:19] Speaker C: Okay. And so how long ago this was out?
[00:09:22] Speaker B: Had to be two years. Had to be two years ago. The thing about it, Jason was only in it for, like, one episode or two episodes. Oh, it was, you know.
[00:09:33] Speaker C: Is it spooky?
[00:09:34] Speaker B: No, it's not spooky, but it's eerie. As in.
[00:09:37] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:09:39] Speaker B: Like, there's a scene where a little kid riding his bike through the park and something happened. It just gets snatched up.
[00:09:46] Speaker C: Yeah, that's my boogeyman.
[00:09:48] Speaker B: That's. That's what it's kind of basing off of, like a boogeyman kind of syndrome. Yeah, he's eating kids and stuff like that.
[00:09:55] Speaker C: Hey, you.
Nah, your number four, Corey.
I ain't watching that. It sounds like I'll be.
[00:10:01] Speaker B: Nah, man, It's a good detective movie.
[00:10:04] Speaker C: I want to watch that. Had me have happy dreams.
Like porn. What's your number four, Corey?
[00:10:11] Speaker A: Star.
[00:10:12] Speaker C: That. That came on.
[00:10:14] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:10:15] Speaker B: The singing.
[00:10:16] Speaker A: Yes.
Okay, I'm sorry. I enjoyed it and a whole lot of other people because they trying to make a movie out of it now.
[00:10:24] Speaker C: Oh, really?
[00:10:25] Speaker A: People wanted it back as a TV show and he tried to push it out to different networks, but nobody was picking it up. Which is crazy because they was popular.
[00:10:32] Speaker C: I ain't gonna lie. I ain't gonna play no clips of this. Cause this, all of these shit's coming straight from Fox. And I ain't trying to get no copyright strike.
[00:10:39] Speaker A: Yeah, you can't do that.
[00:10:40] Speaker C: Shout out to Star. I know the show you talking about. Where they be wasn't Brandi. No, that's Queens I'm thinking about. No, Brandi was on Star and she was a rapper.
[00:10:47] Speaker A: Uh huh.
[00:10:47] Speaker C: Oh, okay, okay, okay.
[00:10:48] Speaker A: But no, she was. She sang on that. She was Queen Latifah's sister on that show.
[00:10:55] Speaker B: What?
[00:10:55] Speaker C: Wasn't Brandi on the show when she was a rapper?
[00:10:57] Speaker A: Yes, yes, she was.
[00:10:58] Speaker C: That's a different show.
[00:10:58] Speaker A: That's a different show.
[00:10:59] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Star. So you watch. But you do watch them kind of shows though?
[00:11:02] Speaker A: Yes, I do.
[00:11:03] Speaker C: Where?
[00:11:04] Speaker A: What's them kind of shows?
[00:11:06] Speaker C: Shows that come on Fox or WGN or whatever. No, upn, cw.
[00:11:10] Speaker A: I just watch tv.
[00:11:11] Speaker C: You watch the cw? Shit.
[00:11:13] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:11:14] Speaker B: My number three is a cw.
[00:11:15] Speaker C: My number four, it's a Hulu show. It was good. I don't think we got any resolution. Cause it only came on one episode. I mean, one season. And it was Black Cake.
[00:11:27] Speaker B: Oh, I remember that.
[00:11:29] Speaker C: It's about a foreign.
[00:11:31] Speaker B: That was in Trinidad or somewhere too, right?
[00:11:33] Speaker C: Jamaica too.
It's about a lady who. It goes back and forth from the past to the present. And the mom. The mother. And it has some secrets and they kind of come out after she dies, right? Yeah, after she dies, it comes out and then the kids get mad at the daddy and some stuff like that. But you know, I don't think we got a resolution. So I would like to have another season of Black Cake.
[00:11:59] Speaker B: Oh, so they didn't.
[00:12:00] Speaker C: No. Cause I think. Cause they do all these shows in anticipation of getting another episode. I mean, another season. Yeah. And they don't end it, so. But I want to say it's based on a book, though. I'm gonna say Black Cake was based on a book. A couple books, whatever.
[00:12:13] Speaker B: I think I did hear somebody talk about that. Say that.
[00:12:15] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:16] Speaker B: On one of your shows back then. Yeah.
[00:12:18] Speaker C: So yeah. Black Cake is my number four thing. Black Woman led. So check that out on Hulu.
[00:12:25] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
[00:12:26] Speaker C: What about you? L. Your number three?
[00:12:27] Speaker B: My number three is another hbo.
[00:12:30] Speaker C: No, I thought you said wgn.
[00:12:31] Speaker B: I thought I Thought it was hbo. I thought it was a cw, but my number two is a cw.
[00:12:37] Speaker C: What's number three?
[00:12:38] Speaker B: Lovecraft Country.
[00:12:40] Speaker A: Oh, I was going to put that on my list. Glad I didn't.
[00:12:42] Speaker B: No particular reason, just I would like more of them.
[00:12:45] Speaker C: Is this on my list? It is somewhere.
[00:12:47] Speaker A: They took it. They took it off too soon, man.
[00:12:50] Speaker C: They didn't take it off too soon.
[00:12:51] Speaker A: Yes, they did.
[00:12:52] Speaker C: I'm going tell you why. It was only supposed to be one season.
[00:12:54] Speaker B: It wasn't supposed to, was it?
[00:12:56] Speaker C: Yeah, it was only supposed to be one season.
[00:12:57] Speaker B: Y.
[00:12:58] Speaker C: Because it's based on a book. Exactly.
[00:13:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:02] Speaker C: But go ahead, I'll let you tell it. This is your thing.
[00:13:03] Speaker B: No, there's no particular reason, but I just would like more of it and I would like it to be just like how the first couple episodes was episode three.
[00:13:13] Speaker C: Not no episode three, though.
[00:13:15] Speaker B: What was episode three?
[00:13:16] Speaker C: Episode three was when that damn shit happened in the house. And them damn spirits and shit, man. Shit. Hell no, man. That shit had me crazy. They showed a damn ghost face, cuz I think.
[00:13:28] Speaker A: I don't think they expected the turnout for that show.
[00:13:31] Speaker C: That's what it was.
[00:13:33] Speaker A: It's like, dang, we don't got nowhere to take it.
[00:13:36] Speaker C: Yeah, so.
[00:13:37] Speaker A: And they had good chemistry.
[00:13:39] Speaker C: Well, they asked the showrunner, like, the producer, the lady that, you know, wrote it or whatever, her, what she had planned for episode two. I mean, I'm sorry, season two. If they did give her season two. And it was. From what I read, it was some off the wall crazy shit or whatever. And they was like, nah, we ain't doing that shit.
[00:14:00] Speaker B: Like, you've gone too far.
[00:14:01] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, it was like spaceships and civil rights type shit or some shit. I don't know. It was some wild shit that I read one time. And yeah, so they didn't give her the second season, so.
[00:14:13] Speaker B: Word.
[00:14:14] Speaker C: But they weren't playing for two seasons anyway.
[00:14:16] Speaker B: But anyway, that was my number three.
[00:14:18] Speaker C: All right. What's your number three?
[00:14:20] Speaker A: Living single. I could have so used another season of that.
[00:14:24] Speaker C: What happened at the end of that?
[00:14:25] Speaker A: I mean, everybody. They ended it, right? Because they knew they were getting. The show was canceled. So they allowed, you know, Overton and Sinclair to live out their life. And then Max and Kyle had a baby.
[00:14:38] Speaker B: What?
[00:14:38] Speaker A: Yeah, she got. She was pregnant.
[00:14:40] Speaker C: Was it gonna.
[00:14:41] Speaker A: And then Queen Latifah's character, her and Scooty finally got together.
[00:14:49] Speaker C: Scooty? I thought it was Scooter.
[00:14:51] Speaker A: Scooter is it.
[00:14:52] Speaker C: I thought it was Scooter is it.
[00:14:53] Speaker A: Scooter. It is. Scooter.
[00:14:55] Speaker B: Scooty.
[00:14:55] Speaker A: And then Regine.
[00:14:58] Speaker B: What you say? Scooty.
[00:14:59] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:15:00] Speaker A: At least I was close.
[00:15:02] Speaker C: Scooty. Bike. She was thinking about Ray J.
[00:15:05] Speaker A: No, I was not.
[00:15:07] Speaker C: I'm just with you, but.
[00:15:09] Speaker A: And then Regine got her. Got her, man.
[00:15:13] Speaker B: Yeah, I can't.
[00:15:14] Speaker A: But I could have definitely used.
I could have used a few more seasons of that.
[00:15:19] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[00:15:21] Speaker B: You know who that is?
[00:15:21] Speaker A: Nia Bad.
[00:15:22] Speaker C: Who don't know who that is. A white person.
[00:15:25] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:15:25] Speaker C: I was about to say my number three is kind of in the same.
Ooh, this is gonna sound kind of.
Go ahead and get. Get your face ready. Pause. This one goes. It's in the same vein as yours.
Your last one, Lovecraft Country.
[00:15:41] Speaker A: In the same vein.
[00:15:42] Speaker C: The Watchmen. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The Watchmen was on hbo.
It was only supposed to have one season.
[00:15:51] Speaker B: They came out with another one, didn't they?
[00:15:53] Speaker C: No, uh, it was only one season. It was. It was. You know what I'm saying? It was a limited series, but it did so good. People thought about giving it a second season or whatever, but it was for the same reasons they, you know, talked about. A lot of people didn't know about Black Wall street until the Watchman.
[00:16:11] Speaker A: That's crazy.
[00:16:12] Speaker C: They did a lot of civil rights stuff or whatever.
[00:16:14] Speaker B: I forgot about that one. That was a good one.
[00:16:15] Speaker C: Yeah, that was a good one. That's my number three to watch, man. And it. It's based off a comic book, graphic novel or whatever. And then they had a movie back in the day, and then they came out with a couple cartoon movies too. That was basically the movie over. I didn't know it. Know it. Somebody was like, yeah, you need to watch the Watchmen or whatever. I was like. I watched it and I was like, hold up. This seemed like the movie.
[00:16:35] Speaker B: Same thing.
[00:16:36] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, same as the movie. But the Watchmen show was different than the movie Regina King plays in it.
[00:16:43] Speaker B: She, the main character?
[00:16:45] Speaker C: Yeah, she. Yeah. What's my man? Is that Mahershala Ali who played a blue guy who played Dr. Manhattan? Oh, man.
[00:16:53] Speaker A: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
[00:16:55] Speaker B: Washington. What's his last name?
[00:16:56] Speaker A: Don't let me lie.
[00:16:57] Speaker B: Is it Washington?
[00:16:58] Speaker C: Washington?
[00:16:59] Speaker B: What you said?
[00:16:59] Speaker A: What?
[00:17:00] Speaker B: You said his last name.
[00:17:00] Speaker C: I said Mahershala Ali.
[00:17:01] Speaker B: I think it's Washington something. Washington.
[00:17:05] Speaker C: And while she looks, I try to filibuster. So, yeah, I did like that show.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: Yeah, I liked it too.
[00:17:12] Speaker C: That character was like, yeah, it was a badass character. I thought she was gonna get Killed.
[00:17:17] Speaker B: You did?
[00:17:17] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Cause she was like against. She was like trying to find. I wanna say she was. Cause it's been so long since I watched it. But she was trying to find who was like a racist cop or something like that. She was trying to find who was a racist cop, a racist judge or something like that. And stuff was happening and they knew she was looking. It was. It was like very.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: They couldn't kill her, though.
[00:17:40] Speaker C: Yeah, they couldn't. They kept trying.
[00:17:41] Speaker B: Yeah, they couldn't kill off.
[00:17:42] Speaker C: And what, her granddaddy, like a superhero type dude too or something like that?
[00:17:47] Speaker B: I think so. I'm like you. It's been so long since I've seen it. But it was somebody in the family that was also.
[00:17:53] Speaker C: But I think a show like that could go on for a long time because it's comics or whatever, but it's comics. Not. It's not like Superman or Batman or Spider Man. It's like comics that most people really don't know about. And they could go on and on with these characters or whatever. But. Yeah, I like. You can't find out.
[00:18:11] Speaker A: Yes. I want to say his name is Yaha Abdul Mateen.
[00:18:15] Speaker C: That's him.
[00:18:16] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:18:16] Speaker C: Yeah. It ain't Washington.
[00:18:18] Speaker B: It's definitely ain't Washington.
[00:18:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:18:20] Speaker B: Your number two. L. My number two is another, I guess you could say action.
Comic. Bass.
[00:18:27] Speaker C: Comic.
[00:18:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:18:29] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:18:30] Speaker B: Black Lightning on cw.
[00:18:32] Speaker C: Yeah. That just went away with no kind of nothing.
[00:18:37] Speaker B: Yeah. But you know what? They brought it back on.
[00:18:39] Speaker C: What?
[00:18:40] Speaker B: From a long time. Like. Like it was a big space in between, what, third season and fourth season.
[00:18:46] Speaker C: But that was that. Because of COVID It could have been.
[00:18:50] Speaker B: You might be right.
[00:18:51] Speaker A: Excuse me?
[00:18:52] Speaker B: You might be right.
[00:18:53] Speaker C: Thought you're trying to get.
[00:18:54] Speaker A: No, no, no.
[00:18:56] Speaker C: Thought you're trying to get his arm.
[00:18:58] Speaker B: No, tell me you want me to change, but yeah. Black Lightning.
[00:19:02] Speaker C: Tobias Whale.
[00:19:04] Speaker B: Remember that?
[00:19:05] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, I do. Yeah.
What was it? It was the tattoo.
[00:19:09] Speaker B: I didn't. Painkiller.
[00:19:12] Speaker C: Painkiller. That was a tattoo name. Oh, no. Every time he killed somebody, that got tattooed on him. No, that.
[00:19:17] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, the black guy.
[00:19:18] Speaker C: The black guy. I forgot.
[00:19:19] Speaker B: Yeah, from.
[00:19:21] Speaker C: Oh, man, I seen him in some stuff since Black Lightning, too.
[00:19:25] Speaker B: That first. Was it the first season? First episode we had the biggie picture behind him and stuff like that. That's where everybody was like, oh, oh. They got some new hip hop kind of action figure shit.
[00:19:36] Speaker C: So when it first came out, I didn't know anything about Black Lightning or whatever. And I thought Black Lightning was the grown up Static, shock.
[00:19:48] Speaker B: And a lot of people still think that.
[00:19:50] Speaker C: Oh, really?
[00:19:50] Speaker B: Like that's funny?
[00:19:52] Speaker C: That tickle you to death? Huh?
[00:19:53] Speaker A: You did.
[00:19:54] Speaker C: You had to bust out laughing on your boy.
All right, I'm putting cases on all you.
[00:20:01] Speaker B: Oh, don't say that word, Bitches.
[00:20:04] Speaker C: I can't say.
[00:20:04] Speaker B: Not when he got a female in here. You could say bros, but don't say bitch.
[00:20:10] Speaker C: But you can say female. It's just the same.
[00:20:13] Speaker B: You can't say female.
[00:20:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I can't say none of the shit. Cut all the shit.
My number two explain shit to you, you let it play too long. Explain what? Huh?
[00:20:26] Speaker B: You know he been waiting.
[00:20:27] Speaker C: Shut the up.
[00:20:28] Speaker A: There you go.
[00:20:29] Speaker B: You know he been trying to wait. Hit that button for the past two shows.
[00:20:33] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Last time he messed up, but go ahead, B.
[00:20:38] Speaker C: What?
[00:20:38] Speaker A: No, it's only number two. It's my number two.
[00:20:40] Speaker C: Oh, yeah?
[00:20:41] Speaker A: Yeah, rap.
[00:20:43] Speaker C: Damn, I forgot about rap.
[00:20:46] Speaker A: Rap?
How you forget about rap?
[00:20:50] Speaker C: Cause there's so many shows.
[00:20:52] Speaker A: I know it is, but rap. Should have got their third season.
[00:20:56] Speaker C: Sick. Oh, no, they did get a second season.
[00:20:59] Speaker A: Yeah, they got a second season.
[00:21:00] Speaker C: Yeah, they should have got another season.
[00:21:01] Speaker A: Unfucking believable.
[00:21:04] Speaker B: Cory is really mad about that.
[00:21:06] Speaker A: I am.
[00:21:06] Speaker C: Yeah. They did that show dirty, then nobody else picked it up.
[00:21:10] Speaker A: I knew they had high ratings. Like, what the.
[00:21:14] Speaker C: It was mean.
[00:21:15] Speaker A: No, they didn't. And they. And the reviews was high.
[00:21:19] Speaker C: They had high reviews for sure.
[00:21:20] Speaker A: Oh, come on, man.
[00:21:21] Speaker C: But they would have had to have, like, crazy ratings to keep it going.
[00:21:25] Speaker A: No, but it wasn't because of the ratings. That's not why they got canceled.
[00:21:28] Speaker C: Why they got canceled.
[00:21:29] Speaker A: I just.
It wasn't that.
[00:21:34] Speaker B: Didn't that come on.
[00:21:34] Speaker C: Where'd that come on hbo?
[00:21:36] Speaker B: Oh, okay. I don't know why I thought it.
[00:21:38] Speaker A: Came on, because I remember Issa mentioning, like, she just wanted.
[00:21:41] Speaker C: Did it come on hbo? Did it go straight to Max?
I think it was straight to Max. I don't think it came on HBO ever. I think it was.
[00:21:47] Speaker A: It was on whenever they got together. It was hbo. Because I watched it on hbo, Max.
[00:21:54] Speaker C: No, but I'm saying. I want to say it never came on hbo. Like a scheduled time. It just went straight to Max.
[00:21:59] Speaker B: All out.
[00:22:00] Speaker C: It was just straight. No, no, not all out at once. It would come out every week, but it was only. It would only come out on Max. Oh, word? Yeah, I don't. I don't think it came out on HBO. Like, Fridays at 8:00. I don't think it ever did.
[00:22:12] Speaker A: Oh, you mean, like the channel.
[00:22:14] Speaker C: No. Yeah.
[00:22:15] Speaker A: No, no, no, no.
[00:22:17] Speaker C: Straight. Max. Yeah, okay. Yeah, maybe that was the thing. I don't know. But.
[00:22:22] Speaker A: Yeah, but they should have definitely got that.
[00:22:24] Speaker C: Yeah, they should have got another season.
[00:22:25] Speaker A: Unbelievable.
[00:22:26] Speaker C: What? We on number two.
My number two is another straight to streaming show. Black Woman Led came on Hulu. You had to wait every week to watch it. It only got one effing season and it ended on a cliffhanger. So I know it didn't end. And that was how to Die Alone, Natasha Rothwell's show. It was a really good show. Very well acted, very well written, different storyline.
Had one of my favorite things in it. Scamming.
[00:22:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:22:57] Speaker C: Cause she was a little scammer.
[00:23:00] Speaker A: I did fraud today.
[00:23:02] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:23:03] Speaker A: I did a good job today.
[00:23:05] Speaker C: Yeah, that was. Let me see if I can get a clip without.
Damn.
[00:23:11] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:23:11] Speaker C: Maybe this one, but, yeah. How to Die Alone. It was about her. She was in her 30s, single, she worked at an airport.
She was kind of low on funds.
[00:23:23] Speaker B: And what network was that?
[00:23:25] Speaker C: This was. No, it was on Hulu. It was no network.
[00:23:27] Speaker A: Yeah, Hulu.
[00:23:28] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, it was on Hulu. But it was a good show. I liked it. It was funny. She's a good actor.
[00:23:34] Speaker A: Yeah, she is.
[00:23:36] Speaker C: And it was a good storyline. Original storyline.
[00:23:39] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:23:40] Speaker C: I don't know if it was a rating. I wanna say it had pretty good ratings, but it, like, you know, straight to streaming or whatever. But I just. I really didn't know too many people that watched it while, like, every week. I would always talk about it on the show, but I didn't know too many other people that talked about it. But I liked it. It was a good show. So how to Die Alone is my number two. Okay.
[00:24:01] Speaker B: L. Where we at?
[00:24:02] Speaker C: My number one, numero uno.
[00:24:04] Speaker B: My number one. And I know you guys already know what it is.
[00:24:08] Speaker C: You low.
[00:24:09] Speaker B: It's gotta be the Sopranos.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: I knew he was gonna say the Sopranos.
[00:24:14] Speaker C: You don't think it came to a resolution?
[00:24:16] Speaker B: No. Cause the last episode, last two episodes.
[00:24:20] Speaker C: It ended like Everybody Hates Chris.
[00:24:23] Speaker B: It did?
[00:24:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:24:24] Speaker B: Exact scene. Right. They redid it.
[00:24:27] Speaker C: Yeah. Everybody Hates Chris redid it.
[00:24:29] Speaker B: So what happened was the last, you know, they went to war with another crime family. They killed that crime family guy. So the last episode, they started showing where the sun was at a certain time of day. They started showing where the wife was a certain time of day. So they kind of like. It looked like, you know, one of them might get killed. They all met up at.
[00:24:52] Speaker C: At a diner.
[00:24:53] Speaker B: At a diner. They started showing the People in the background, you know, close up this guy, this net.
[00:24:58] Speaker C: And what the people that it started showing was like rival people?
[00:25:02] Speaker B: No, they were like Italian people. Just, you know, hey, this could be the guy that do the hit or something like that.
[00:25:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:25:08] Speaker B: So. And after that they played music and.
[00:25:10] Speaker C: Like baba ganoush and the screen just went black.
[00:25:12] Speaker B: The screen went black and that was it. It was over.
[00:25:15] Speaker C: I didn't even watch it. But I know that because they.
[00:25:17] Speaker B: Yeah, that's.
[00:25:18] Speaker C: That's like one of the most iconic show.
[00:25:21] Speaker B: Shut off. Yeah, shut off. Too black. And I wish they had, you know, a couple more seasons.
[00:25:28] Speaker C: Shout out to the Sopranos.
[00:25:29] Speaker B: Yes, yes.
[00:25:30] Speaker C: And it was so iconic that what you call it copied it. Everybody Hates Chris.
[00:25:34] Speaker B: Chris. That's another show that could get another season for me too.
[00:25:38] Speaker C: It ended the way it could. It ended how? His real life. Cause in real life, Chris Rock never got a high school diploma. And I wanna say at the table. Cause he had a choice to go ahead and get his GED or try to finish high school and get a diploma.
I wanna say it ended with him telling his parents that he was gonna get a GED and he wanted to pursue whatever he was gonna pursue. I can't remember if it was comedy or not on the show, but that's how it ended with him having a paper with his GD and something like that. It was so long ago.
[00:26:13] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:26:13] Speaker C: But yeah, that's my. That's a good number one.
[00:26:16] Speaker B: I don't know if anybody got honorable mentions, but that's.
That's one of my honorable mentions.
[00:26:21] Speaker C: Okay, we'll get to that in a second. What's your number one?
[00:26:25] Speaker A: My number one has been one that's been haunting me since I was a middle schooler.
[00:26:29] Speaker C: My Little Pony or high schooler? What?
[00:26:33] Speaker A: Moesha.
[00:26:35] Speaker C: What?
[00:26:35] Speaker A: Moesha.
[00:26:36] Speaker C: I never watched it, so I don't know.
[00:26:37] Speaker A: Moesha ended in the worst.
[00:26:40] Speaker C: It was.
[00:26:41] Speaker A: It was. It was canceled. So they didn't get a proper send off.
[00:26:45] Speaker C: Oh, it was canceled.
[00:26:46] Speaker A: Like the final episode.
[00:26:48] Speaker C: It was canceled.
[00:26:49] Speaker A: Like the Waynes brothers.
[00:26:51] Speaker C: Wayne's brothers got a final episode.
[00:26:52] Speaker A: No.
[00:26:53] Speaker B: Oh, they did.
[00:26:54] Speaker A: No, no, they did not.
[00:26:56] Speaker B: Oh, wow.
[00:26:57] Speaker A: Them too. But Moesha, they. Miles got kidnapped and they brought his.
[00:27:03] Speaker B: Shoe over and then it wasn't crumbled up, was it?
[00:27:07] Speaker A: No, no. Miles got kidnapped by Lil Kim and her gang. Cause Ray J's character was into some mess.
[00:27:15] Speaker C: Charlamagne.
[00:27:16] Speaker A: And then what?
[00:27:18] Speaker C: Well, you know, Charlamagne had got into it with Lil Kim. And then.
[00:27:23] Speaker A: Charlamagne, my game mo came Home. And then Ray J was like the God. Miles got kidnapped and she fainted, and that was the end of Moesha.
[00:27:32] Speaker B: For real.
[00:27:33] Speaker A: That was the end. We were all.
[00:27:35] Speaker C: To the. Then he used to come back for commercial, be like, mo to the E to the Moesha. Oh, and then say Moisha, and then it'll go. Yeah. Child of that. I don't know if my. My number one won't be that dramatic. And I'll bet $7 that you didn't watch. Well, I ain't gonna bet because I'm on the street right now. Starting with winning the bet last week.
[00:27:54] Speaker B: Don't look over here.
[00:27:56] Speaker C: My number one is a show I always talked about on here. One of the. It's a very funny dry humor show.
It came on Comedy Central, then it moved to Max Black Jesus. Nope. Ooh, Black Jesus is a good one. But it wouldn't be the same after Charlie Murphy died.
[00:28:15] Speaker B: Definitely wouldn't be.
[00:28:17] Speaker C: And after Pops died, it wouldn't be the same. But mine is Southside. That's my number one.
[00:28:22] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:28:22] Speaker C: Southside. You never watched it.
[00:28:24] Speaker B: Oh, the funny scene where the guy was locked on the other side of the door and he had a hole in the. They took the doorknob off and he wanted to feed him food.
[00:28:40] Speaker C: And it was a hot dog. Yes.
[00:28:42] Speaker B: It was like. It was like a gyro. It was tzatziki sauce.
[00:28:46] Speaker C: And I think I do remember that scene too.
[00:28:49] Speaker B: Funny.
[00:28:50] Speaker C: Yeah, that show is hilarious.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: I did my $7. I did. See.
[00:28:53] Speaker C: No, I said I'm not gonna bet. Yeah, exactly. I said, I'm on the street.
But, yeah, that was a good. That was a good show. Yeah, last season was kind of weak, but it just didn't. It just ended with them not getting another season. And that was one show. And a lot of people didn't talk about that show. And it's like those people that's on that show, they kind of do other shows together. Like the police officer, the guy that plays the big black police officer, he had a show called Sherman Showcase that would come on, and it was funny. It was kind of like a variety type show.
[00:29:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I remember.
[00:29:32] Speaker C: But it was a good show. And the female police officer, that was his partner, that's really his wife in real life.
[00:29:38] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:29:39] Speaker C: Yeah. But you know what I'm saying, it was just a good show.
You see a lot of them people, like the guy that played the alderman, like, he's on a lot of shows with them and stuff like that. But I love the actors in that or whatever. But yeah, Southside is my number one show.
[00:29:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I didn't catch that until after it was already off. Oh, I don't know how I caught on to it. I caught on to it. I probably seen a meme from it or something and something was like, you know what? Let me check that out. Check the show. I was too funny.
[00:30:09] Speaker C: Like the police officer dating a drug dealer. And like, it was. It was.
[00:30:13] Speaker B: It was like an errand store.
[00:30:15] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. They worked at like, the rental.
[00:30:17] Speaker B: The. The furniture rental store.
[00:30:20] Speaker C: Uhhuh.
[00:30:21] Speaker B: Yep. Yep.
[00:30:21] Speaker C: So before we get out of here, some honorable mentions. Who you got?
[00:30:25] Speaker B: Well, I told you, one of them. My next one is the Get Down.
[00:30:28] Speaker C: The Get Down.
Yeah, I feel you. Okay. A lot of people said that it did kind of end, but I. I was done with all that saving this.
[00:30:36] Speaker B: I liked it, man. They could have went to the 80s with it or something.
[00:30:38] Speaker C: Yeah, maybe they could have. What about you? I mean, what's the more you got another one?
[00:30:42] Speaker B: No, the other one.
[00:30:44] Speaker C: The one I just Chris Rock everybody hates. Well, you got some honorable mentions.
[00:30:48] Speaker A: Static shock.
[00:30:49] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:30:50] Speaker A: Static shock. Should have got another season. And his own movie.
[00:30:53] Speaker C: You know what's crazy though, Saying a lot of those cartoons from back in that time, like, one of mine is on there. They only would have like three or four seasons and do a whole bunch of reruns. But like, a lot of cartoons really didn't have a lot of seasons. You got any Marnable mentions?
[00:31:10] Speaker A: The Waynes Bros. I said it earlier. They should have got there. They should have got another season too.
[00:31:15] Speaker C: Yeah, but like a show like that, I don't really. Them shows kind of like, they kind of follow like a storyline.
[00:31:24] Speaker A: No, but they were canceled too.
[00:31:25] Speaker C: No, but I'm saying, like, they kind of follow a storyline to where, like, if you watching it in syndication, it just come on and on and on, and then you catch episodes. So it ain't really got. Gotta follow. No, no thing to where you get it to the end. Yeah, but like, so you. You really don't realize how many shows they had or they didn't really have a long run, but like a show like Insecure, it followed. You know what I'm saying?
[00:31:52] Speaker A: You could tell it followed a whole storyline.
[00:31:53] Speaker C: Storyline.
[00:31:54] Speaker A: Yeah, from beginning to end.
[00:31:55] Speaker C: Yeah, but like sitcoms, they kind of loosely follow a storyline.
[00:32:00] Speaker A: It's a whole lot of plot holes and stuff and different things.
[00:32:04] Speaker C: So one of mine is a cartoon too. Batman Beyond. I think they only got like three or four seasons. I hear people talk about they should make a movie of that. I'll make a reboot of it with, like, Michael Keaton playing the old Batman and then getting somebody to play the young one, But I don't know how that gonna go.
[00:32:22] Speaker A: Michael Keaton has already came as Batman, and he just needs to now. He needs to rebuild.
[00:32:26] Speaker C: Yeah, but he. The old Batman on Flash. On the Flash. Yeah. So they could go into that.
[00:32:31] Speaker A: He died in that world.
[00:32:33] Speaker C: He did. In one of them. One of them. But it's multiverse.
[00:32:37] Speaker A: That's what I'm saying. In that universe, he did. He did. Him and Supergirl, they both die. Mm.
